Rise to Fame
She was working as a nanny and tending bar at the Geffen Playhouse when she put herself through seven auditions for 2 Broke Girls. CBS finally gave her the lead opposite Kat Dennings, and she made Caroline Channing, the Manhattan heiress turned Brooklyn waitress, into the show's straight-woman anchor. The premiere drew the highest ratings for a fall comedy since 2001. Behrs spent six seasons proving she could carry a network sitcom.
In the Spotlight
She moved straight from one CBS sitcom into another, joining The Neighborhood in 2018 as Gemma Johnson and spending eight seasons on the show. On the side, she hosts Harmonics, a music and wellness podcast, writes a Substack newsletter, and has started developing projects as a producer. Two long-running network sitcoms back to back is a particular kind of career stability, not glamorous, not risky, but harder to pull off than it looks.

Her husband is Michael Gladis, best known as Paul Kinsey on Mad Men, which is how they met in 2007 at a show premiere. They didn't start dating until 2010, married in Idaho in 2018, and have a daughter born in 2022. Off-screen, she raises horses in California and collaborated on a regenerative leather cowboy boot collection. The music podcast she hosts isn't a branding exercise, it's a real interest that predates the fame.
