Rise to Fame
A casting director told her at 10 she didn't have what it takes. Her parents talked her into one more audition. That audition was for Stranger Things. She got the part of Eleven, shaved her head, and made Time's list of 100 most influential people by 2018. The whole family had relocated from the UK to Orlando specifically for her career, and was reportedly living with an aunt when the show landed.
In the Spotlight
In March 2025, she posted a video calling out journalists by name for writing that she looked 'middle-aged' at 21. One of them quit her job over it. Florence by Mills hit Nordstrom in September 2024 after expanding from beauty into fashion, the quieter business story nobody leads with. She reportedly filed a workplace complaint against Stranger Things co-star David Harbour, and the two appeared together at the final season premiere. She's 22, married, and there's no off-season.
Side Notes
Born partially deaf in one ear, she's since lost all hearing in it. She grew up in Marbella, Spain (British parents), before the family moved to Orlando when she was 8 to support her acting career. UNICEF made her a Goodwill Ambassador at 14, the youngest person to hold the title at the time. After marrying Jake Bongiovi in 2024, she legally became Millie Bonnie Bongiovi. She now raises goats on a Georgia farm, alongside a daughter she adopted in 2025.
