Rise to Fame
The breakthrough wasn't a lead role. It was stepping into someone else's. When Lesley-Ann Brandt left Spartacus after Season 1, Addai-Robinson got the call to take over as Naevia. She showed up in New Zealand and went through Navy SEAL and NZ Special Forces training to earn the fight sequences. Years of guest spots on procedurals had come before that, but Spartacus gave her something real. Amanda Waller on Arrow followed in 2013, and the grind finally started looking like a career.
In the Spotlight
In 2025, she was running two major Amazon franchises at once. The Accountant 2 cleared $103 million theatrically, then landed on Prime Video and pulled 80 million viewers in 28 days, with her reprising the role of Marybeth Medina alongside Ben Affleck. On the other side, Season 3 of The Rings of Power wrapped in December 2025, her Queen Regent Miriel's arc still unresolved heading into a release not expected before 2027. Two massive payoffs in the same window, neither of them finished yet.
Side Notes
The Rings of Power casting almost went differently. She auditioned for the role of Bronwyn in June 2019, didn't get it (Nazanin Boniadi did), and came back seven months later for Miriel, a considerably larger part, right before COVID shut the industry down. Born in London to a Ghanaian mother and American father, raised in Silver Spring, Maryland, she's fluent in English, French, and Twi. NYU Tisch trained. That biography doesn't fit a single easy category, which tracks with her habit of playing characters who don't fit where they are.
