Rise to Fame
He was doing community theater in Scottsdale before landing TV guest roles as a teenager. The real break was Andi Mack, the Disney Channel series where he played Jonah Beck from 2017 to 2019. On paper, Jonah was the popular jock. In practice, the character had an anxiety storyline that gave the show more weight than most Disney fare. That three-season run got him Billy Batson in Shazam! (2019), but Disney is where he actually built his audience.
In the Spotlight
The DC pivot ran into a wall. Shazam! Fury of the Gods underperformed at the box office in 2023, and when James Gunn took over the DCU, a planned third film got scrapped. He's been leaning on music since, releasing his debut single 'One Thought Away' with Wiz Khalifa in 2019, which reportedly trended number one on YouTube for three days. Newer singles arrived in 2024 and 2025, and he signed on for a Tubi romcom. The franchise that was supposed to carry his movie career didn't make it past two.
Side Notes
He grew up in Paradise Valley, Arizona, where his mom's acting background made her the advocate and his more traditional dad needed some convincing before the move to L.A. happened. He started at Desert Stages Theatre in Scottsdale at age 7, doing musical theater before the camera work came. Also plays guitar, which makes the music career less of a pivot than it looks.
